4 –9-07 Easter Monday
After breakfast at the hostel this morning we found a market around the corner from the hostel. We picked up some fruit for the day and went to catch our train. The train from Paris to Vernon was a little over an hour. Then we took a bus to Giverny.

Everything about this little village is picturesque. We paid Є 5.50 to see Monet’s garden and home. It was simply amazing. I could paint all day on a day like that. It was so beautiful outside. We lay in the park and ate some lunch, which was some bread, pear, orange and grapes. Then Ben went and got us some ice cream cones!

The smells are scents of flowers and grass. The sounds are sounds of birds, bee’s and a slight hum of people’s conversation. Just amazing! We also saw Claude Monet’s grave.

I am SO glad I got the book from Eric (my brother) for Christmas about this place. It is just indescribable (but I am trying!).

The pond where Monet painted the “Water Lilies” series is magnificent! The beauty is just amazing. As I was lying in the grass writing in my journal, Ben is writing a post card to our cat and sending it to us. (And he say’s he is not one of those ‘cat people’, its bull, all bull.)
